Audience: Teachers and Administrators Pre-K - 12

The purpose of this workshop is to provide educators with current best practice for managing and navigating this challenging topic in their classroom, with faculty and with leadership teams. Educators will use design thinking and the Harbord and Khan educational model to explore and adapt to the ethical issues that present when addressing these sensitive matters. Topics included are as follows:

Developing an inclusive culture, Stereotypes, Gender, Bullying, Use of pronouns, White privilege and Bias.

Teachers will collaborate to develop presentations and a unit planning document to share this knowledge to their chosen audience. Audiences can include students, faculty, leadership teams, the school board or parent associations.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion for 45 hours of professional development. Graduate credit is available to eligible participants.
