The Brain and Stress

Audience: Teachers and Administrators Pre-K - 12

This workshop will examine the development of the brain and the impact stress has on the brain. March 2020 ushered in Covid 19 and changed our world . Schools were closed, some opened and closed again. Students and teachers were both in limbo and often unprepared for this new teaching model. Teaching strategies had to immediately be adapted and changed to meet the new online learning paradigm. This led to stress for both the students and the teachers. This workshop will examine the role of stress and the developing brain. We will examine trauma and teachers will be asked to develop appropriate lessons using best brain based practices to address the new needs of their students.

All participants will receive a certificate of completion for 45 hours of professional development.
