Conducted by Dr. Meredith Harbord

Audience: Teachers and Administrators Pre-K through 12

Gamification has been around for some time now but it still has some educators worried as to the benefits of using this technique in the classroom. The course explores the ideas behind gamification and also some of the concerns that both educators and parents have with regard to computer addiction. Participants will explore the differences between Game Based Learning and Gamification and how these can be applied to the teacher’s toolbox for student engagement. Games give students a safe place to fail and the opportunity to gain proficiency
